The “Red Dot Award” is one of the most prestigious awards in the design industry and this year received over 8,000 entries from 50 countries. Audi received three awards this year at the 2017 edition of the “Red Dot Award: Communication Design” event for the new Audi Sport Brand Book and related movies. The Brand Book from Audi Sport GmbH won awards in the Books and Film Craft categories. While one award was for the painstakingly created book, the other two awards were for the films produced for the brand book.
Commenting on the awards, Stephan Winkelmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH said that the the Audi Sport Brand Book gives readers an insight into the world of Audi’s performance brand by illustrating the company’s idea of systematic technology transfer from motor racing to volume production.
The brand book has three chapters named “Performance”, “Perfection” and “Passion” which depict the main characteristics of Audi Sport. In 154 pages, the book takes the reader through the entire spectrum of the brand ranging from customer racing engagement, the production of the current R and RS models and the personal driving experiences and emotions of the racing legend Tom Kristensen.
Three of the exclusive stories in the book are supplemented with high-quality movies which can be accessed from the book through QR codes or seen on social media channels as well as www.audi.com. The book is really impressive thanks to its high production quality and its large size. A Hamburg-based agency ‘loved’, conceived, designed and produced the Brand Book.
At the “Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017” event, Audi received the “Best of the Best” award for the Brand Book movie “Rodeo” in the “Film Craft” category. The movie “Tunnel” also received a “Red Dot” in the same category. The jury honoured the brand book in the “Books” category.
