OMA Ironic Speaker is a limited-edition speaker of which only ten unites are available. The speaker that comes without an enclosure is cast from a special kind of iron. It definitely has a truly unique appearance with its complex design that required the use of a special 3D printed mold in sand that is destroyed during casting. The speaker’s design is inspired by the quadratic diffusers that are used in studio and broadcast applications.
The speaker comprises a 15″ electrodynamic or field coil woofer which is derived from 1930s jukeboxes and a modernistic custom ribbon tweeter. The outcome is a highly efficient loudspeaker with an outstanding design. The sound quality is amazing thanks to the high graphite content in the speaker. Graphite is generally used for high tech applications in which resonance or vibration needs to be kept to minimal levels. Absolutely the coolest speaker ever.
