The Kurv Digital Guitar translates your superb air guitar skills into music—taking away the chafed fingers from the process of learning how to play. If you live in an apartment or love to travel, you know how difficult and expensive it is to take your guitar wherever you go. The components of the Kurv fit into your palm, making it a light, portable and fully functional guitar.
Kurv is made of a digital plectrum, a touch fingerboard, and an accompanying app. Together, the pick and fingerboard weigh less than the average cell phone and tether to the Kurv app via Bluetooth 4.0. Packed with touch sensors, gyroscopes, accelerometers, pressure sensors, and magnetometers, Kurv responds to all the gestures you would use when you play a guitar. The motion-sensing digital pick senses and increases volume when you strum harder. Intuitive controls on the fingerboard allow for eight notes of an octave to be played, or a switch to chord mode. The fingerboard also detects vibrato notes and the pressure of your finger, adjusting the sound of the guitar to respond to subtle changes. The Kurv is available with three default guitars—an overdriven electric, an acoustic guitar, and a bass guitar, combining three musical instruments into a product that can be used to play other instruments such as a trumpet or violin.
The Kurv app completes the digital guitar suite, offering 60 learn-and-play songs as well as a digital guitar tutor that tracks your progress. Kurv is versatile enough to be used for casual practice or in a professional recording studio and multiple Kurv devices can be used as MIDI controllers, giving you access to many more instruments and a broader, richer palette of sounds. The design of Kurv places customizable gesture programming capabilities at your fingertips alongside the ability to connect the guitar to nearly any recording software.
