Amplitude’s core premise is that you keep a spaceship moving from side to side to keep a thumping track from Metallica going. The player is completely in charge of the different instruments and samples and have to play several instruments at the same time to steer the ship safely. If you have a yen for music and love rhythm action games, this is the perfect game for you. Amplitude features more than 20 songs so you will never be bored. The graphical experience has been revamped to provide a much more interactive and enjoyable experience than the original Amplitude. Multiplayer modes have been added so that you can enjoy the game with your friends, with ships being color coded so that you can tell the different players apart easily. The new concept of “Boss songs” that you have to keep going to get through gates without suffering from damage is also great. There are difficulty settings that you can adjust to suit your skill levels as you progress from stage to stage. This is definitely a fitting tribute to the original Amplitude that came with the PS2 version. The game, like all great video games is simple but addictive and can keep you occupied for hours.
