Bentley Bentayga Hybrid has Fuel-Saving Navigation System

The Bentley Bentayga SUV has a new Hybrid variant and one interesting feature of this model is its intelligent satellite navigation system. The hybrid variant of the Bentley Bentayga is powered by a 3.0 liter turbocharged V-6 engine that is paired with an electric motor-generator and its navigation system is one that motorists can use to optimize fuel efficiency. When a destination is fed into the system, its onboard processor uses an algorithm to come up with the best combination of electric drive and gasoline V-6 mobility for maximum fuel efficiency.

The vehicle than automatically opts for the drive mode which is best for each part of the route, while continuously monitoring battery charge, in real time, and storing electrical energy for parts of the journey where it is most useful. Thus, the electric-only range of 31 miles (50 km) in the NEDC cycle is used in the most optimal manner.

The navigation system can also be used to plan the journey such that the electrical charge would drop to zero just as the vehicle reaches its destination. This would maximize the overall efficiency. The battery pack can be fully recharged within just 7.5 hours using a conventional domestic household socket. Customers who benefit from access to an industrial connection, either at their home or office, can recharge the battery pack in only 2.5 hours.
