The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has announced that its “GEOLANDAR G98” tire will be used as original equipment tires on the all-new Mazda CX-5 from Mazda Motor Corporation. Mazda had launched the new crossover SUV in February this year in the Japanese market. The Mazda CX-5 model will sport the Geolander G98 tires in 225/65R17 102V size.
The “GEOLANDAR G98” belongs to Yokohama’s renowned Geolander range of SUV tires. The Geolander tires use the basic design and materials technology that is also used in Yokohama Rubber’s award winning range of BluEarth tires. The BluEarth tires are based on the concept of “environmentally, human, and socially friendly” and are meant to improve the fuel efficiency of vehicles while delivering outstanding performance. In the case of the Mazda CX-5, the Geolander tires will help reduce fuel consumption while providing motorists with a safe and comfortable ride. The tires are ideal for use as passenger car tires during the summer.
The original CX-5 is notable for offering users a fun drive with Mazda’s proprietary SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO‒Soul of Motion design. The all-new Mazda CX-5 has several refinements when it comes to design and technology and is billed as “an SUV all customers will enjoy”.
Yokohama Rubber is investing heavily in development of its tires having the top-notch BluEarth tire technology. Many of the tires belonging to the BluEarth range have been selected as OE tires by leading auto manufacturers, especially for new eco cars and hybrid vehicles.
