Yuasa Battery Europe has revamped its search functionality for looking up batteries online and launched the new site at the Automechanika show that was recently held in Frankfurt. These innovations include a photo number plate lookup feature and live technical support that would be available across Europe. The company which specializes in lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries said that technicians can save both time and money by using the new site which is now faster and more user friendly. The battery look-up facility is completely free and can be accessed online through fit.yuasa.co.uk or by pushing a Yuasa USB Smart Button.
All users need to do to find the right battery or starter for their vehicle is take a photo of the registration plate on their vehicle. They can then use the system’s automatic number plate recognition feature to find the correct battery. It is also possible to manually enter the VIN number or registration numbers. Currently, the system is already in use by over 75,000 mechanics and technicians. The search functionality also includes a rapid make/model search, a comprehensive battery cross reference search and advanced browse battery functions.
Speaking about the new features, James Douglas, marketing executive at Yuasa battery Sales (UK) Ltd said that the company’s online battery lookup system is lot more than just a battery finder. It is the most powerful, user-friendly and fastest battery lookup resource available anywhere. It offers users the benefits of greater accuracy and the widest coverage. Browsers can chat to members of Yuasa’s technical team in real time through the live support option and benefit from their expertise to handle their battery issues.
He added that in addition to being a battery supplier, Yuasa is constantly focusing on giving customers the kind of information and service they need. The company’s new mobile friendly battery lookup tool will help customers to find detailed battery and fitting information quickly and thus save valuable time and money.
Battery replacement is no longer a simple process like it used to be in earlier years. As models have become more complex, the procedure to change a battery has become more complex and time-consuming. For example, Vehicles which use Stop-Start technology need to be fitted with batteries that have the same specifications as the OE unit. Yuasa’s new system provides browsers with a number of details such as battery type, fitting time and battery location in a clear and concise way. Furthermore, users can access detailed fitting instructions and battery information if required.
