Bosch’s infotainment system is now finding its way in several Suzuki models worldwide. Featuring complete integration, user-friendly operation and multimedia functions, it creates a connected information system that offers a wide range of different infotainment and assistance functions designed to meet today’s demands for added value.
The innovative Bosch system ensures that passengers in Suzuki vehicles constantly stay in contact with the outside world. It boasts a low-glare 7-inch color touchscreen that displays a number of practical and convenient options in just one device, including an outstanding music enjoyment via crystal-clear radio reception or audio-streaming, a hands-free Bluetooth® system, advanced map navigation and voice control, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay® and Mirror Link™.
According to Manfred Baden, President of the Car Multimedia pision at Bosch, using the smartphone connection and the easy-to-understand menus and symbols on the display enables users of the new Suzuki system to stay connected with the outside world anytime from anywhere.
Plug and Play as Easy as 123
The voice commands, 7-inch display, and steering wheel remote control buttons for telephone, volume, or available sound and storage media, makes system operation easy and hassle-free. The options available in the menus–whether selecting music titles and radio stations, addressing telephone lists, or pulling up navigation maps–can be easily and safely operated on the touchscreen by simply swiping, pinching or sliding the fingers on the screen.
Seamless Integration Solution for the Vehicle
Bosch experts have developed a perfect smartphone integration solution for Suzuki vehicles that ensures seamless connection of smartphones via Apple CarPlay® and Mirror Link™. Thus, users enjoy the benefit of simple operation and quick personalization of the app experience. At the same time during the trip, the smartphone can be recharged by simply plugging into the USB slot. Moreover, the system offers Bluetooth® connection capacity for cell phones, enabling users to easily control it via menus which offer direct access to the phone book and text messages.
What’s more, the Suzuki system can read, analyze, and play back any popular digital audio and video format. With Bluetooth® audio streaming, audio data can be transferred wirelessly and played for a rich, thrilling in-car experience. Apart from playing audio files stored on an iPod, SD card, drive or USB flash, the device can play back videos from an external DVD player or via USB.
Optimized Route and Low Fuel Consumption
The SD map navigation in the all-new Suzuki system utilizes exact, acoustic driving recommendations to guide motorists to their chosen destination. Upon entering the destination, the route is calculated in an instant and the maps and driving recommendations appear in 2-D or 3-D map views. Plus, they can choose an “Optimized Route”, which is designed to consume minimum fuel and cut CO2 emissions. Side trips can also be made at any time to a number of points of interests, including personal favorites.
By offering this highly compact and revolutionary multimedia unit featuring smartphone, integration and an array of functions to Suzuki, Bosch is continuing its successful collaboration with the Japanese company.
Baden concluded that Suzuki could now make a powerful infotainment solution for connected services and contents available to its customers around the world.
