BYD Denza N8 EV Launches November 12: 1,193hp, Up to 1,003 km Range and Flash Charging

BYD’s premium brand Denza is bringing back the N8 name as a fully electric luxury SUV, and the numbers are big. The new Denza N8 EV launches in China on 12 November 2026 with up to 1,193 horsepower, a claimed range of up to 1,003 km and BYD’s flash-charging technology. Pre-orders opened on 26 October. Here is everything announced so far.

Quick Highlights

  • China launch: 12 November 2026; pre-orders opened 26 October
  • Tri-motor all-wheel-drive version with 890 kW (1,193hp)
  • Up to 1,003 km CLTC range (about 812 km WLTP) from a 130.15 kWh battery
  • Second-generation Blade Battery with flash charging
  • DiSus-A air suspension, rear-wheel steering and “tank turn” mode
  • No price and no UAE plans announced

Power and Drive Options

There are two layouts. The rear-wheel-drive version has a single motor with either 320 kW (429hp) or 370 kW (496hp). The all-wheel-drive version has three motors, one at the front producing 270 kW (362hp) and two at the rear producing 310 kW (416hp) each, for a combined 890 kW (1,193hp). The three-motor setup also allows a “compass turn” (tank turn) and intelligent crawling modes. A plug-in hybrid version is expected to join later.

Range and Charging

The N8 EV uses BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery with flash-charging technology. The largest 130.15 kWh pack is rated at 1,003 km on China’s CLTC cycle, which equals roughly 812 km on the stricter WLTP cycle. Other battery options give 970, 840 and 800 km on CLTC. CLTC figures are very optimistic, so expect real-world range to be much lower, especially in UAE summer heat.

Size and Design

The N8 EV is 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,820 mm tall, with a 3,075 mm wheelbase. It has split LED headlights, active air vents, a front trunk and concealed door handles, and comes with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels. The boot holds 1,046 litres as standard. Customers can choose from four single colours and four two-tone options.

Inside the Cabin

  • A 30-inch panoramic screen and a 1.1-metre-wide “Sky Screen”
  • Reclining “zero-gravity” seats, with up to 165 degrees of recline in the front
  • Ventilation, heating and massage on all seats
  • Devialet sound system, rear entertainment screens and an onboard refrigerator
  • Dual 50W wireless charging pads

Technology

The N8 EV includes BYD’s God’s Eye 5.0 driver-assistance system and DiSus-A intelligent air suspension. Rear-wheel steering helps manoeuvring and handling for such a large SUV. As with every driver-assistance system, the driver must remain responsible.

Will It Come to the UAE?

Neither Denza nor BYD has announced UAE plans or pricing for the N8 EV, so the details above are for the China-market car. If it comes here, specifications and prices could be very different. BYD is already a major player in the UAE, and its luxury Yangwang brand is making its Altior debut in Abu Dhabi on 8 November, so the Gulf is clearly a focus.

Final Thoughts

A 1,193hp electric SUV that can claim a four-digit range is the kind of headline Chinese brands now deliver regularly. The real test will be the price and real-world efficiency. Would you buy a Denza over a European luxury SUV? Tell us in the comments.
