Mopar Launches Winter Tire and Wheel Packages in the US

Mopar, FCA’s pision specializing in service, parts customer service will be launching winter tire and wheel packages in the US market for the first time for a wide range of FCA vehicles.

The packages will include all drivers will need to increase their safety in challenging winter conditions including tire pressure monitoring systems, steel wheels and winter tires. To make it even easier for customers, the tire and wheel sets will be delivered to them in a condition where they are already mounted and ready for installation.

Speaking about the initiative, Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA – Global said, “Mopar is rolling out our first-ever offering of winter wheel assemblies for those customers who desire a little extra control during the cold weather seasons. He added that the assemblies will give additional peace of mind to motorists and will arrive ready to install.

These tire and wheel packages are available for models like the popular Jeep Cherokee, Chrysler 200, Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country. Tires that have been included in the program are Michelin X-Ice Xi3 and Continental WinterContact SI. Prices vary depending on the vehicle and the company has stated that more models will be covered as part of the initiative next year.

Though most leading tire manufacturers have launched their very own all season tires, experts still feel that specialized tires are needed to handle the slick roads and wet weather experienced in winter in the North American market. Even when used with an all-wheel drive, specialized winter tires can significantly improve braking distances and traction thus enhancing the safety of motorists. Plus, winter tires can often last for more than one year, which spreads out the investment.
