Japanese manufacturer, UD Trucks has launched Croner, an all-new medium duty truck, in the Middle East, East and North Africa. The truck build on the brand’s legacy of building the “truck that the world needs today”, and the Croner range has been specifically designed for growth markets across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America.
Croner has been named after the Greek god of time, Cronos, and is positioned as a range of reliable and versatile trucks having quality components which will provide motorists with extra productivity and superior uptime. The trucks have been designed to suit the demands and business needs of customers by providing them with the benefit of saving time so that they can stay ahead of competition.
Commenting at the launch, Mourad Hedna, UD Trucks Middle East, East and North Africa President, said that UD Trucks understood that customers need to spend more time on the road and less time in the workshop in order to make their businesses successful. He said Croner’s is to make every moment count for the customer, by maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime on every run their vehicles make.
Croner has been designed to set a benchmark in the medium duty segment and is available in three gross vehicle weight (GVW) versions: MKE, LKE and PKE; and their wheelbase variants, with as many as 21 different configurations available to suit specific demands of various industries. Additionally, air suspension is available as an option on all variants to protect customers’ cargo, especially when travelling on rough roads.
Many markets face serious shortage of drivers due to the strenuous demands that are placed on them and this where Croner’s automatic transmission option will be crucial. The automatic transmission option can be used by customers to attract drivers, as the automatic transmission will makes driving easier and reduces fatigue for both experienced and inexperienced drivers. It can also go a long way towards reducing cost and downtime for Middle East business owners, as manual transmissions are more vulnerable to wear-and-tear, especially for long-haul driving.
Customers who buy Croner trucks benefit from UD Trucks’ strong Japanese heritage and craftsmanship, the Volvo Group’s global technology and sourcing; and local manufacturing and customer support. They truly meet UD Trucks’ Ultimate Dependability standard with regard to every aspect, and every component is the outcome of years of development and stringent stress testing.
UD Trucks has chosen to adopt “Going the Extra Mile” as its brand tagline. With its focus on fuel efficiency, uptime, reliability and drivability, while meeting the high standards for safety and environment, UD Trucks is able provide customers in the Middle East with the best products and services in the market to meet their business needs. UD Trucks offers a comprehensive set of UD Extra Mile Support services, like UD Genuine Service and Parts, UD Driver Training, and UD Trust Service Agreements. These have been established to ensure that the company’s trucks like Croner, run and remain in optimum condition while going the extra mile, to help users save minutes, hours, and days over the years.
In addition to its Extra Mile Support, UD Trucks also offers a professional telematics solution which provides customers with real time information and reports to help them improve the operation of their fleets. By connecting these trucks to the UD workshops, UD Trucks can offer proactive and continuous workshop support to its customers.
