Back in October 2014, well known Japanese tire manufacturer, Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd had signed a sponsorship agreement with Liecester City Football Club. Toyo benefited from a considerable commercial presence at King Power Stadium, the club’s home ground and the club’s members sported the company’s logo on their training wear. Now, in the runup to the 2016/2017 season for the English Premier League, Toyo has produced a video to support Leicester City Football Club. The season begins for the club with an away match in Hull on 13 August.
In the 2015-2016 season, for the first time, Leicester won the Premier League championship since the team was founded in 1884 and the club is planning on continuing its success streak this season. The glorious victory culminated in city-wide celebrations with over 240,000 club supporters out of a total population of 300,000 in the city turning out for the team’s grand victory parade.
The new video’s theme is “Surprise Again” and it effectively depicts the ambition of the manager and players to continue the winning streak.
According to Toyo representatives: “Leicester’s insatiable energy and spirit of challenge meshes with the worldview of the Toyo Tires brand, which prompted the company to conclude a sponsorship agreement with the club for a third season.”
