The organizers of The Tire Cologne, a new show for the tire industry have informed that the maiden edition of the show has been postponed in view of the corona virus outbreak. The show was initially scheduled to be held from June 9 to June 12 in Cologne. It has now been postponed to May next year.
The organizer of the show, Koelnmesse G.m.b.H. said that the decision to postpone the show had been made after “in-depth consultation and in agreement” with the co-sponsor of the trade show, the BRV/Bundesverband Reifenhandel & Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. (German Tyre Retail & Vulcanization Trade Association).
Koelnmesse’s decision is also the outcome of the agreement that was reached on March 16 between the German federal government and the governments of the individual German states about common guidelines for tackling the coronavirus epidemic. According to these guidelines, all trade fairs and exhibitions had to be cancelled.
Currently, the requirements regarding social distancing and other health precautions that need to be taken would have a heavy impact on the planning security for Koelnmesse and the participants of the trade fairs in Cologne. It is far beyond their scope. Hence, the Koelnmesse management team has decided not to organize any events until the end of June.
According to Koelnmesse, the decision to postpone the show would provide exhibitors and visitors of The Tire Cologne with “planning security.”
The new dates for the event are from May 18 to May 20, 2021. The venue would be the same, the Cologne Fair Grounds.Tire Cologne, Postponed, coronavirus
