Pirelli organized a gathering of supercar owners at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi recently. The Yas Marina Circuit serves as the venue for the renowned Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the gathering gave 200 petrolheads drawn from across the Middle East a chance to try out their driving abilities on the circuit’s famous F1 track while getting to experience first hand the latest in tire technology from Pirelli. The P ZERO Experience served as an opportunity for those who earned supercars like members of Supercars Majlis, the Porsche Club, and many private supercar owners to get exclusive access to the renowned circuit for over 15 hours during the third edition of the popular event.
After getting the latest P ZERO tires fitted on their cars, the attendees received a rare, special chance to drive around the circuit in order to test their driving skills and experience the superior performance of Pirelli’s cutting-edge tires. Pirelli is a manufacturer having a rich history of over 140 years of industry-leading technology.
Commenting on the event, Alberico Avogadro, General Manager, Pirelli Middle East said that the P ZERO Experience was an opportunity for Pirelli to give something back to its loyal customers, clients and supporters for the continued commitment they showed to Pirelli. The day also served as the perfect opportunity for the brand to showcase its latest innovations related to tire technology to motoring enthusiasts who truly know their cars and understand about things that make a difference. Such car lovers also appreciate the very best in tire performance and the difference it makes when it comes to an optimal driving experience.
The invitees to the PZERO Experience benefited from a full-spec racing day experience thanks to driving simulators provided by Pole Positions Event Management, a specially-made track warm-up room staffed by two trainers who explained and took participants through track-specific physical warm-up routines, and a highly popular pit-stop challenge with the winners of the challenge getting a special gift from Lamborghini.
The event also was also attended by the full team of Yas Marina Circuit’s instructors who were available to brief participants, provide them with coaching clinics, and sensitized drivers about on-track safety measures and protocols. Another bonus was that Pirelli’s own ZAFCO vans were available to carry out comprehensive checks on every supercar before it was driven on the track.
“As one of the leading tracks in the region, which regularly hosts the best drivers in the world, Yas Marina Circuit provides the perfect stage for us to test our tires and for our customers to test themselves and their cars in a safe, controlled environment,” said Avogadro. “We aim to provide our customers and supercar enthusiasts with an exclusive hands-on experience at a circuit that is renowned internationally and we are proud that the event allowed participants to get an extended taste of the thrill of motor racing in an extremely secure environment.”
Other companies and brands who provided support for the P ZERO Experience included Mont Blanc, Puma, Lamborghini, McLaren, Roger Dubois, BAC Mono, Technogym, and Pagani.
