Safe-Run has been chosen as the supplier for providing machinery to the first factory in the UAE that will specialize in the production of tires. The project which is called Roadbot Tire Project KIZAD will require investment to the tune of 540 million Euros and is supported by investors both from China and the UAE. The new factory will be built in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD). It is expected to become operational and manufacture both car and truck tires by the fourth quarter of 2020.
In a statement that the company issued on September 18, Chinese company, Safe-Run which supplies tire machinery supplier said that it would be providing tire building machines and curing presses for the plant. It did not provide any further details. Safe-Run will also be involved in helping to build the plant’s smart system for full-process automation. Initially, the plant is expected to produce 3 million units of passenger car tires on an annual basis and this will eventually be ramped up to 10 million units by 2022. The plant will also have the capacity to produce 1 million truck/bus radials every year.
