Mitas Unveils Mobile App to Help Farmers Choose Right Tire Pressure

Mitas, which is now part of Trelleborg Group, has just launched a new mobile tire pressure app that will help farmers choose the right tire pressure using their Android, iOS and Windows smartphones.

Using the new app, farmers can easily find just the right pressure to help their tires achieve optimum performance both on the field and on the road. All they need to do is select the size of the tires they are using, input the speed of their vehicle and the weight of the cargo, and immediately the right tire pressure will be displayed on the screen of their mobile phone. Speaking about the new app, Pavel Kott, Product Manager for Mitas agricultural tires, said that Mitas was aware about the crucial role of correct tire pressure when it came to agricultural work. When tires are operating at the correct pressure, they cause minimal damage as a result of soil compaction. Keeping the pressure at the optimal level also provides vehicles with better traction, lower slippage rates and reduces fuel consumption.

The new Mitas app has a user-friendly interface that allows farmers to quickly choose their tires from the list of available Mitas tire sizes and tread patterns. It is also possible to do a full text search by parameters. They have the option to set the speed either in kilometers or miles per hour and the cargo weight (load per tire) either in kilograms or pounds. The resulting tire pressure can be viewed either in BAR or PSI.

“Correct tyre pressure is key factor which influences the productivity of agricultural work and I believe this new mobile app brings added value to our customers, the farmers,” concluded Kott.
