Kumho Tire has announced that the company has won 2019 edition of the North America Good Design Award for three of its tires. Earlier, the tire manufacturer had won two awards at the recent iF International Forum Design Awards. The three tires from Kumho that were chosen for the awards were the Majesty 9 Solus TA91, WinterCraft Wi51 and the Kumho Ecsta PA51. The Good Design Awards are one of the top design awards in the world. The awards are given to honor products that the members of the expert panel of judges recognize as the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial products in 30 categories. Entries are received from all parts of the world for the award.
The awards are given jointly by the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Museum. Winners of the awards are selected based on a range of criteria, like functions, new technologies and innovative design.
Commenting on the awards, Jung Il-taik, the head of the R&D division at Kumho Tire said that the company strives to distinguish itself by developing high-quality, innovative products. He said that Kumho Tire would continue to focus its research capabilities on creating designs that would satisfy the need of its consumers.
