Prometeon Tyre Group, the newly minted Pirelli division for industrial tires has moved one step ahead by forging an alliance with the renowned Iveco Defence Vehicles company. Prometeon is set to be soon spun off as a separate entity that will be engaged in the production and marketing of Pirelli branded tires for trucks, buses, agricultural tires and OTR tires. As the outcome of a commercial agreement Prometeon signed with Iveco Defence Vehicles, the two companies will join hands and collaborate for the development and supply of tires for new generation defence vehicles that Iveco makes.
This agreement with Iveco, which is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial sector vehicles highlights Prometeon’s leadership in high technology tire development. Prometeon’s R&D department will work closely with the client resulting in development of the best products, which are tough enough to tackle the severe and diverse applications that may be demanded by any type of vehicle.
It was against the backdrop of this partnership that the Prometeon Tyre Group’s Research & Development Center in Milan developed the new Pirelli MG:01 tire, in 265/70R19.5 size. The MG:01 is made from a tread compound that is compatible with traditional road, off-road and snowed-under conditions, an dis fully capable of delivering maximum performance and optimal drivability for any type of use. The acronym MG of the new tire stands for its operational characteristics: M for Multipurpose (both for the steer and drive axles) and G for On-Off Road applications.
