Hankook Tire to chosen as OE Tire for New Ford Focus Active

Hankook Tire has announced that the company’s Hankook Ventus Prime 3 has been chosen as the original fitment tire for the All-New Ford Focus Active. The tire is positioned as an ultra-high performance tire that offers customers the perfect combination of performance, comfort and safety.

Hankook Ventus Prime 3 tire demonstrates outstanding driving and braking performance in wet and dry surfaces. It sports wide 4 channel grooves, which promote rapid drainage and thus superior wet performance. The grooves also have optimized design for each position, thus minimizing the trade-off that generally occur between wet and dry performance. Hankook incorporated a high-grip silica tread compound when it came to compounding technology to further enhance wet braking.

Due to its characteristics, the Ventus Prime 3 tire has gained international recognition. It has received the top mark of “Good” from the German Automobile Club ADAC in the 2018 product test and was the top tire among 51 competitors in the 2018 tire test which Auto Bild magazine conducted. The Auto Bild tire tests are considered as one of the largest and most significant tire product tests in the world. These rankings attest to the great performance of the tire. From the design perspective, the tire won the the 2016 Red Dot Design Concept in product design.

The Ventus Prime 3 tire will be available from the month of December on the All-New Ford Focus Active in sizes 215/50R18V and 215/55R17V. The All-New Ford Focus Active represents an entirely new concept for Ford Motor Company, as it is a mid-sized family car which aims to offer customers more space and advanced technological features than in any other car in this segment. The Focus Active has a highly versatile and tough design that is inspired from SUVs and the smart technologies available in the vehicle includes selectable drive modes. The Ventus Prime 3 thanks to its larger size, is expected to add to the stability of the vehicle, and to boost its performance in all terrains.
