Hankook Tire has been selected as the provider of OE tires for the new 2019 Ford Ranger. The Korean tire manufacturer has received two original fitments for Ford’s midsize pickup. As a standard tire, the Ranger will be fitted with Hankook’s Dynapro HT RH12 tire. Customers can also opt to fit their vehicle with the more off-road oriented Dynapro AT-m RF10 tire.
The Dynapro HT tire is positioned as a highway all-season tire which is optimized for longer tread wear and offers better traction and comes with a wider footprint for better grip under all driving conditions.
As part of the Ford Ranger’s FX4 off-road package, Ford will offer Hankook’s Dynapro AT-m tire. This tire is designed as an aggressive, all-terrain tire which can enhance the Ranger’s off-road capabilities. It has a tougher pattern design and block structure, which minimizes cuts and impacts from sharp objects. It also has a reinforced carcass and rubber gauge for better hill climbing and stability both on and off the road. The tire will be available in sizes 265/60R18 A/T BSW, 265/60R18 A/T OWL, 265/65R17 A/T OWL, 255/70R16 AS BSW, and LT 265/65R17 A/T OWL for the Ranger.
The Ranger has good approach and departure angles and this makes the vehicle perfect for off-road and rock-crawling enthusiasts. While the Dynapro AT-m tires come with upgraded rubber, the available FX4 off-road package also offers off-road-tuned shocks and suspension, rear locking differential, and four distinct drive modes so that offroad enthusiasts can daringly conquer a wide range of terrains.
The collaboration between Hankook and Ford Motor Co goes back to 1999. Hankook supplies tires for the Ford F-150 as well as the Ford E-Series trucks.
“Hankook Tire is excited to be a part of launch of the Ford Ranger with two of our most capable tires for on and off the road,” said Hyun Jun Cho, head of Hankook’s OE division. “With the HT and AT-m, the Dynapro product line is designed for those who want to get the most out of their adventures.”
