Hankook Tire has announced that it has expanded its range of OE fitments with new fitments for Mercedes trucks belonging to the heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) and medium duty segment. These include vehicles like the Econic, Atego, Actros, Antos and Arocs. The new tires that have been selected as OE tires by the German manufacturer include the mainstays of the range marked by Hankook in Europe, the DH31 and SmartFlex AH31 as well as the e-cube MAX AL10+ and DL10+.
For the 22.5 inch tires which is the most popular size in Europe, Hankook will be providing customers with multiple options. These new fitments for medium-duty and heavy duty trucks further bolsters Hanook’s brand value in a market that is highly competitive and is yet another indicator of the company’s success in its drive to achieve a leadership position in the TBR segment.
The e-cube MAX AL10+ which is meant for all positions and is a long haul tire minimizes uneven wear with the use of linear grooves and waved walls. This also increases durability and fuel efficiency in the long run. The most notable features of the AL10 tire are its high load index and improved tread compound. Use of this tire gives customers the twin benefits of higher load capacity and optimum fuel efficiency.
Customers who opt for the e-cube MAX DL10+ (drive axle long haul) will get excellent traction due to the tire’s three-dimensional kerfs. The tire also comes with deep grooves and extra-wide tread blocks for superior long mileage performance. The block supporter contributes to the longevity of the tire while reducing its rolling resistance. Both the e-cube MAX tires will be available in three sizes 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/60R22.5.
For long haul truckers who will be encountering a wide range of climatic conditions and surfaces, the hybrid line SmartFlex AH31, an all-season TBR tire with its even wear, lower rolling resistance and long mileage performance is the ideal choice. The SmartFlex DH31, the version of the same tire for the drive axle can be optimized for a wide range of different applications due to its technical excellence that gives it outstanding traction in a variety of operating conditions including long-haul, winter and regional applications. It comes with the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) symbol and offers high mileage durability. The SmartFlex AH31 and SmartFlex DH31 will be available in three sizes, the 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 for the new Actros.
The tires of the SmartFlex series and the e-cube Max DL 10+ tires have been labelled as M+S and 3PMSF and will go a long way toward improving the durability and performance of commercial vehicles.
Hankook Tire began its partnership with Mercedes-Benz in 2014, when the German manufacturer selected Hankook as the OE supplier for its medium duty ‘Atego’ trucks and heavy duty ‘Actros’ trucks. With a new raft of OE fitments from Mercedes-Benz, Hankook has cemented its reputation as a leading supplier of top quality tires for the TBR segment.
