General Tire, Continental’s tire brand with an American heritage, is renowned for its high-performance SUV and all-terrain tires. In line with this vision, and with the tagline “your 4×4 specialist,” General Tire offers a comprehensive range of tires for SUVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles, that are equally suitable for use both on road and on off-road terrain. The company has added another new tire named Grabber HTS60 to the General Tire range. The tire was officially launched in Hanover, Germany and comes with a modern tread design in which the sipes and blocks provide a large number of gripping edges in order to provide motorists with reliable interlocking even on wet surfaces. This feature minimizes hydroplaning and makes it easy for vehicles to tackle offroad drives with ease.
The compound used in the tire increases its resistance to damage from debris and stones. The tread has excellent sound-absorbing properties as the outer ribs on both sides minimize rolling noises that originate from the middle of the tire. This also contributes to quiet running and good rolling characteristics.
General Tire’s tire developers used their “StabiliTread technology” to achieve high mileage performance. The technology combines a flat ground contact area with even pressure distribution and a very stiff tread design. Along with the use of a wear-resistant tread compound, the new Grabber HTS60 achieves a remarkable 25 percent increase in mileage when compared to its predecessor model.
Currently, the Grabber HTS60 is available in almost 30 sizes for rim diameters ranging from 15 to 20 inches. The tire has got approvals for speeds of up to 240 km/h. Some sizes are also available with Outlined White Letters (OWL).
