Acknowledging the quality of Kumho tires, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) had selected tires from the Korean manufacturer as OE fitments for the Jeep Cherokee and Fiat Freemont. Now the two companies have gone one step further in their collaboration, with FCA selecting the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tires as the OE fitment for the new Jeep Renegade.
Kumho has already commenced delivery of Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tires in sizes 215/60R17 100V XL and 225/55R18 98H to the FCA factory at Melfi in the Itaalian province of Potenza, where the new Renegade is being manufactured.
The Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tire has been specially developed for the use in SUVs and offers an outstanding level of comfort even at high speeds, low noise levels and good handling characteristics. It delivers balanced traction both in wet and dry conditions.
Speaking about the new OE fitment, Frank Gilsdorf, the engineer responsible for the OE contract at the Kumho European Technical Centre in Frankfurt said that Kumho worked closely with FCA to understand their requirements and customize the Crugen Premium KL33 based on the specific needs of the new Jeep Renegade. He added that this latest OE fitment from FCA highlights the company’s longstanding partnership with FCA and the consistently high quality of Kumho tires.
