The North American Tire & Retread Expo has invited entries once again for the Miss Retread Truck Tire Contest on April 20. The contest will be held during the show to recognize the “most beautiful” retreaded medium truck tires. There will be separate contests for both pre-cured tires and mold-cured tires and the winner in each category will receive USD 2,500.
The winners in the 2016 edition of the contest were Techno Pneu Inc. from Canada in the pre-cured category and Recauchutagem Nortenha S.A. from Portugal in the mold-cured category. The Techno Pneu retread had a Dunlop 11R 22.5 casing with Vipal VT200 tread. The mold-cured category prize winner had a Bridgestone 385/65R 22.5 casing with Nortenha Ecotrailer tread.
The winners of the contest will be selected by a highly expert panel of judges including David Stevens, managing director, Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau; Jeff Young, vice president of OTR and retread products division for Rema Tip Top North America Inc.; and Tim BeVier, manager, national account business development for Tech International.
The North American Tire & Retread Expo is scheduled to held from April 19-21, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Registration is free to all those who are involved in the tire, retread and auto service industry.
