Cooper Unveils Zeon RS3-G1 All-Season Tire for High Performance Vehicles

Cooper Tire recently unveiled the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1, which is positioned as an exciting new all-season passenger car tire for high performance vehicles and drivers.

Commenting on the tire, Scott Jamieson, the company’s Director of Product Management for North America said that the tire showcases Cooper’s greatest cutting-edge technologies and defines the category of tires for high-performance cars. The tire is a breakthrough product that has set a new benchmark in this category with its incredible grip, and ability to create a stable, square footprint on the road even at forces upto 1g in tight corners.

The tire comes with a sleek race-inspired sidewall, and the tire’s tread compound and design have been customized with a number of innovative features for high levels of durability, grip and stability. Irrespective of whether the surface is dry, wet and even in lightly snowy conditions, the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tire delivers outstanding performance.

The tread has been designed not just to lend the tire a stylish look but also comes with more rubber on the outside shoulder and intermediate rib to minimize noise and provide better grip and stability during cornering maneuvers. The 3D full-depth sipes gives the tire longer-lasting biting edges also help the tire tread blocks to maintain a stable shape during acceleration, braking and cornering. The performance of the tire is more consistent even when it is half-worn due to the presence of these full-depth sipes.

Another distinctive feature of the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tire is Cooper’s innovative Wear Square, a feature that allows drivers to estimate the remaining tread life just through a visual check. The outline of a square has been built into the tread design and is located at three points of reference on the center rib of the tire. As the tire wears, the Wear Square goes through five different stages, beginning its life as a full square and turning into an exclamation mark when the tread reaches 2/32s of an inch, showing that it is time to change the tire. The Wear Square can also point to wheel alignment issues and uneven tire wear.
