Cooper Debuts Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX POR with New Compound for Extreme Conditions

Cooper Tire Europe has launched the all-new Discoverer S/T MAXX POR (Professional Off Road), a tyre that is meant for really extreme conditions. This tyre has a new compound to help it tackle 4×4 driving in extreme conditions. The Discoverer S/TMAXX POR fares far better than its predecessor the Discoverer S/TMAXX thanks to the new tread compound which makes the tyre cut and chip-resistant.

Another notable feature of the tyre is its Armor-Tek3 construction, which enhances the durability of the tyre by strengthening its sidewall and tread area. A uniquely-angled ply construction helps minimize impact by providing a cushioning effect, thus reducing the damage that would be caused when a vehicle tackles harsh off-road conditions.

The tyre has a large tread area for superior grip, and the stone ejector ribs as well as the alternating four to five rib tread pattern goes a long way towards making the tyre self-cleaning as it helps with the ejection of stones. The rut guard rib in the upper sidewall area deflects objects. It is also possible to fit studs to the bold tread design for icy conditions.

According to Cooper, the Discoverer S/TMAXX POR is a tyre that provides outstanding ride quality both on and offroad while enhancing the comfort of motorists.

Cooper’s brand ambassador and Dakar Legend, Xavi Foj, used Cooper tyres for his events and Cooper drew upon his experience of using the Discoverer S/TMAXX tyres in tough conditions to further refine the tyre and develop the S/TMAXX POR, thus reinforcing the ‘Professional Off Road’ designation.

Foj said that he would opt to use the Discoverer S/TMAXX POR as it is the most complete tyre for all uses – from use on the highways to tackling the toughest terrain in the Dakar Rally.

The Discoverer S/TMAXX POR is available at the retail level in 23 sizes.
