Bridgestone’s subsidiary in the United States, Bridgestone Americas Inc has announced that the company’s premium tire lines have been chosen for original fitment on the fourth-generation BMW X5 and the new BMW X7 luxury sports activity vehicles.
Bridgestone will be supplying a wide range of tires which belong to the Bridgestone Alenza and Bridgestone Blizzak tire lines in 15 different sizes and patterns for the BMW vehicles.
Both the BMW vehicle models feature assorted sizes of the Bridgestone Alenza 001 tire and the Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S tire. The Alenza 001 is a high-performance summer tire which performs well in both dry and wet conditions while the Sport A/S is an all-season tire. A few selected sizes of the Bridgestone Alenza 001 tire and the Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S tire will be available with premium Bridgestone run-flat technology.
For drivers in markets that experience harsh winters, Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 winter tires will be available for the BMW X5 and X7 models. Blizzak tires are available in 18-, 19- and 20-inch rim diameter sizes for the BWM X5 and in 20- and 21-inch sizes for the BMW X7. Bridgestone run-flat technology is also available for drivers in the 19-, 20-, and 21-inch tire sizes.
BMW and Bridgestone have collaborated for quite a few years, but till now the X5 and X7 models were fitted with tires belonging to many brands ranging from Pirelli to Michelin.
Commenting on the OE fitments, Shannon Quinn, president, Consumer Original Equipment Tires, U.S. and Canada, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations said, that the design and application of a tire plays a key role in the vehicle’s ability to performs to its maximum capability.
