Bridgestone has announced that it has appointed Mete Ekin, current Regional Managing Director Middle East and Africa, as its new VP Bridgestone Emerging Markets. The appointment will be effective as of today, October 1, 2019.
As part of his new role, Ekin will helm the company’s EMEA’s businesses in Africa, the Middle East, and Russia. This new appointment will ensure that these important and growing markets will received dedicated support to and that they would align seamlessly with regard to the strategic direction that has been planned by Bridgestone EMEA’s leadership to become a leader in mobility solutions.
Mete Ekin was selected for this role based on his earlier experience with the management of Middle East and South Africa and the integration into Bridgestone EMEA, and due to his expertise in the tire industry and the region. In his new role, Ekin will report to Bridgestone EMEA CEO, Paolo Ferrari.
Senior Bridgestone executives who will report to him include Managing Director Bridgestone CIS Region, Jeff Glover; Managing Director Bridgestone South Africa, Jacques Fourie; and his successor as the Regional Managing Director Middle East and Africa.

I’m looking forward to working alongside Paolo and his team in this new capacity as we continue to grow these regions and our EMEA business”.
