Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. Has announced today that its “ADVAN Sport V105” has been chosen as the original equipment (OE) tire by the BMW Group for the M Performance version of the automaker’s X3 in April 2018. BMW’s X3 M Performance model needs to be fitted with 245/45R20 103Y size front tires and 275/40R20 106Y rear tires. BMW had launched the X3 M Performance model at the retail level in markets across the globe in September 2018.
Yokohama’s “ADVAN Sport V105” is a high-performance tire that Yokohama Rubber developed specifically for use in high-performance premium vehicle models. The tire is known for delivering outstanding driving performance as well as high levels of comfort and safety. Yokohama collaborated closely with BMW during the development process before the tires were supplied to the automaker for the new X3 M Performance model. The Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tires used for the model sport BMW’s star mark symbol of approval on the sidewall of the tire.
One of the key goals of the three-year medium-term management plan, GD2020, that Yokohama Rubber launched in February 2018, is to expand its presence in the premium tire markets for its consumer tires. One specific strategy that the company will use for achieving this goal is the “premium-car tire strategy”, as part of which Yokohama will try to increase the use of its tires as OE on premium cars in Japan and overseas.
