Audi has opted to use the Turanza T005 tire, which is billed as a premium touring tire as the OE tire for its Audi A7 Sportback.
The tire which was specially engineered for Audi and is marked as AO (Audi Original) uses a high-silica compound which incorporates Bridgestone’s NanoPro-Tech polymer along with an optimized tread design to offer consumers excellent grip in the wet, while also enhancing the fuel efficiency and the lifespan of the tire.
The tire will provide motorists with outstanding response to the steering while still providing them with high levels of grip and traction in all driving conditions. The tire will be available for the Audi A7 Sportback in the full range of 17”–21” size range.
Another notable feature of the tire is that Bridgestone has incorporated its B-Silent technology on the 19” to 21” Turanza tire fitment to decrease the in-vehicle noise on all road surfaces to minimal levels and thus increase the comfort for the driver. An open-cell polyurethane foam element is applied to the inner surface of the tire and reduces the tire air cavity resonance that is produced by the vibration of air. When compared to regular tires, the use of this foam element reduces the vehicle’s cabin noise significantly without in any way affecting driving performance or the dynamics of the tire.
Commenting on the OE fitment, Christophe de Valroger, vice-president Original Equipment Bridgestone EMEA said that with the Turanza T005, Bridgestone has continued to showcase its innovative approach to tire technology and driving safety. The Turanza T005 provides drivers with greater control irrespective of driving conditions.
