uSens is exhibiting a new collaboration with Daimler China IT Innovation Lab at this week’s SIGGRAPH 2016 trade show in the Anaheim Convention Center.
This demonstration is powered by the Silicon Valley-based company’s innovative 26DOF (degrees of freedom) hand tracking and 6DOF head tracking. It enables participants to observe and interact with the interior and exterior details of a 3D car model in ARVR, while enjoying a pleasurable virtual drive over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Attendees of the event can be among the first to “test drive” this demo by visiting uSens at booth #751.
uSens’ technologies utilize 3D HCI, computer vision techniques, and machine learning to enable natural and intuitive experiences in ARVR. With the globe’s first 26 DOF mobile hand tracking solution, uSens eliminates the need for ARVR users to utilize cumbersome peripheral devices such as handheld controllers or intricate outside cameras.
Along with the new demonstration, SIGGRAPH attendees can also experience uSens’ tracking technologies in extra mobile and PC-based demos for applications such as education and entertainment.
According to uSens CTO and co-founder Dr. Yue Fei, ARVR will not reach its potential to create a truly immersive experience unless hardware makers and content developers overcome the challenges of natural hand and head tracking on both PC and mobile platforms. he said that they are thrilled to give the SiGGRAPH audience the first opportunity to take their ARVR application for a ‘test spin’.
