TomTom Telematics is further reinforcing its cooperation with Toyota Europe by beginning the extension of Traffic and Local search to three years for the automaker’s vehicle range at no extra charge.
Moreover, Toyota Proace, a light commercial vehicle developed in collaboration with PSA Peugeot Citroen, will get a new infotainment system boasting a number of TomTom products, including six services— Fuel, Parking, Weather, TomTom Speed Cams, TomTom Local Search and TomTom Traffic—which will be offered for up to a decade. Toyota Proace drivers are guaranteed to enjoy a fun navigation experience thanks to TomTom’s TomTom Traffic as well as automotive-grade quality digital maps and award-winning navigation software “Navkit”. This enables them to work more efficiently, saving money and time on their everyday drives, without having to worry about yearly subscriptions.
This announcement further deepens the current collaboration between the two companies, already extended for the new Toyota Touch® 2 with Go featuring TomTom Local Search and Traffic services. As part of the success of this relationship, the Japanese automaker has now extended the period for these services from one year to three years.
Commenting on their ongoing relationship with TomTom, Jean-Jacques Serraf, General Manager at Product Management pision of Toyota Europe, said that they want all their customers to enjoy the peace of mind from free connected services and they know that the quality of TomTom products, such as Traffic, would help them reach their destination faster utilizing some of the most efficient routes, whatever the conditions.
Meanwhile, according to Antoine Saucier, Managing Director TomTom Automotive, this is a thrilling new chapter in their relationship with Toyota Europe. He noted that it is a testament to their services that Toyota has extended the free period for their customers. “In addition Proace drivers will experience all the benefits of TomTom navigation coupled with our bundle of services, making their journey more efficient, enjoyable and profitable.”
