The company’s parking service is meant for drivers in congested cities who may spend hours every day looking for a parking spot before heading to work. The service is available to the company’s automotive and licensing customers, and complements the company’s existing Off-Street Parking service.
Commenting on the award, Antoine Saucier, managing director, TomTom Automotive, said that it was a great honor for the company to get the Automotive Innovation Award for its On-Street Parking service. The service is meant to help motorists save time and money, Drivers benefit from greater peace of mind and a hassle-free parking experience. On-Street Parking represents yet another step in the industry’s advancements when it comes to the future of mobility. This service could easily be used by autonomous vehicles to help find a driving spot.
The prestigious AIA Awards are given every two years. A panel of judges drawn from the automotive sector select only nine finalists from the thousands of entries that are received for every edition of the awards. The entries are judged on the basis of their concepts, use of innovative technology, their impact on mobility, their applicability and their economic efficiency.
