NRF has recently added new feather on its cap, being the first manufacturer in the international aftermarket to successfully engineer and produce eight varying Euro6 radiators exclusively for the Mercedes-Benz Actros MP4.
As OEM and supplier to the independent aftermarket, the company produces a wide array of truck cooling parts in and outside of Europe. With five manufacturing plants throughout the continent, NRF is in the forefont of the development and production of interior heating, interior cooling and engine cooling parts.
Euro6 is the European emission standard that defines the allowable restrictions for exhaust emissions of new vehicles sold in EU member states. The emission standards are noted in a series of EU directives, staging the ongoing launch of increasingly strict standards.
In order to get the Euro6 certificate for an engine, it is required to increase the engine’s operating temperature to further enhance exhaust emissions. Considering the boiling point of coolant, the key is increasing pressure in the cooling circuit. This development takes radiator production to a new level, since the Euro6 operating pressure is of 4 bars, in contrast to 1.25 bars for Euro4 and Euro5.
For the Mercedes-Benz Actros MP4, NRF has so far engineered and produced eight different radiators: NRF#: 56067, 56068, 56069, 56070, 56071, 56072, 56073, 56138.
