nonda, a Silicon Valley company has debuted the ZUS Smart Tire Safety Monitor (ZUS STSM) to help motorists monitor the tires of their vehicles in real-time and thus minimize the chance of dangerous blowouts. The product is now available for preorder as part of an Indiegogo campaign. The smart tire safety device is the latest product in the ZUS range of connected car products.
Tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) are required by law for all vehicles that are sold or manufactured in the United States after 2007. One difference between the ZUS Smart Tire Safety Monitor and conventional TPMS devices is that most standard tire sensor technology cannot provide actual tire pressure readings or indicate which tires have a problem. Installation of direct TPMS devices at a dealership is highly expensive. The importance of these devices is highlighted by the fact that though TPMS devices are mandatory, figures from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveal that 1 in 4 cars on the road has at least one underinflated tire. Vehicles with underinflated tires are 300 per cent more likely to get into a crash.
Nonda has made a truly innovative tire safety monitoring system that is powered by next-generation German sensors, which can minimize the possibility of driving on underinflated tires as they monitor both pressure and temperature in real time. nonda also has a proprietary AccurateTemp algorithm that continuously analyzes sensor data and makes the driver aware of safety issues. This advanced data mining makes ZUS STSM the only device on the market that can accurately detect slow leaks and help drivers take proactive action to avoid dangerous situations.
Key benefits include:
In addition to sporting superior technology, the ZUS STSM is also easy for even a lay person to use. It requires a simple 3-step, 10-minute installation process, and does not call expensive wheel re-balancing or the services of an experienced technician.
Commenting on the new ZUS STSM, Joseph Yuan, CEO, nonda US said that generally only the drivers of luxury vehicles use advanced tire safety monitoring. The average motorist on the road is unaware that more finetuning is needed for the basic factory-installed tire monitoring system in order to remain safe on the roads. He added that the ZUS Smart Tire Safety Monitor boosts safety, increases fuel economy and offers drivers advanced technology at an affordable price.
The Indiegogo campaign will continue to run all of June, and backers will have the opportunity to pre-order the ZUS Smart Tire Safety Monitor starting at $97 for Super Early Birds (retails at $119.99). Shipping of the devices will commence in August.
