Motherson Sumi Systems, which is a leading company in the field of automotive wiring harnesses has set up a new production unit in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone. The new factory will be used for the production of a wide range of products including wiring harnesses, rear view mirrors for passenger cars and injection molded products. The company is one of the global leaders in the field of automotive wiring harnesses. Motherson Sumi broke ground for the factory in Al Hamra Industrial Zone. The factory will sprawl over r 21,000 square meters and is slated to become operational by the second quarter of 2020.
Commenting on the new factory, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman of MSSL, said that it is an important step as Ras Al Khaimah is a fast-growing emirate and the new factory will provide the company with opportunities for greater exposure to the global markets. He called the RAKEZ one of the leading economic zones in the region.”
Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ welcomed Motherson Sumi to the zone’s thriving industrial ecosystem. He said it marked another significant milestone in the company’s commitment to reinforcing the industrial growth in Ras Al Khaimah.
He concluded, “This very industry is among the leading contributors to the emirate’s stability and strength in tackling economic headwinds. I’m sure that Motherson is one of the great additions we are going to have this year.”
