Meyle has launched new brakes pads belonging to the Meyle-PD range. These brakes pads are notable for using a refined friction material mix. They are compatible with a wide range of van models like the VW Crafter, the Ford Transit and the Mercedes Sprinter.
According to Meyle, the highly wear-resistant friction material mix was specially designed to extend the life of the brake pads. Another distinctive feature of these brake pads is the use of triple-layer damping shims. They are attached to the brake pad backing and will help neutralize vibration and prevent brake squeal, when applying thebrakes.
Generally, brakepads in vans are subject to heavy loads and stress during operation and the new brakepads offer optimized brake performance thus increasing the life of the brakes. Now, these vans will need to be brought in only for regular service and not on an emergency basis for replacement of brakepads as they will be better able to tolerate wear and tear.
From the sustainability perspective, the new Meyle-PD brake pads do not contain copper or any other heavy metal additives.
