Mercedes-Benz and Garmin Develop Smartwatch to Feed Health Data to Car

Mercedes-Benz and Garmin have developed a new smartwatch, a Mercedes-branded Vívoactive 3.

This smartwatch has the capability to develop a smartwatch that can feed important health data back to your vehicle in order to provide motorists with a smoother and calmer drive.
The two companies launched the smartwatch alongside the new, tech-enabled 2020 CLA Coupe at the CES 2019 show.

The customized smartwatch will be Mercedes-Benz branded and is called the Vivoactive 3 GPS. The smartwatch has the capability to keep tabs on significant health parameters like the heart rate and stress levels, and to send that information to the car’s dashboard. Depending on how calm or stressed the motorist is, changes will be made to the car based on the data received. This will include changes to the air conditioning settings, lighting and music.
In addition to the environment within the car, the routes that will be calculated will also be such that the commuter will enjoy a calmer journey.

The smartwatch is meant to be an add-on to the 2020 CLA Coupe and has a design that is compatible with the new car in addition to innovative technological features.

The new car can not only use your health data to make the journey smoother but also has a brand-new Interior Assistant feature that can be operated through gesture control, and a new and improved version of the voice-controlled MBUX infotainment system.

The Mercedes-upgraded version of the Vívoactive 3 smartwatch is expected to be available at Mercedes dealers from March 2019.
