At this year’s AAPEX, MAHLE Service Solutions has announced that its TechPRO® diagnostic scan tool is now offered in the market. Rolled out at AAPEX 2014, this laptop- and tablet-enabled device is touted as a “game changing” device, featuring the ability to decode a vehicle identification number (VIN) in just a second with one click. It gauges the speed of diagnosis in seconds versus minutes for competitors’ tools, comes with a low cost of entry for technicians to get the tool and features a highly versatile user interface.
TechPRO enables the vehicle communication interface (VCI) and software to be used with a technician’s current, laptop, desktop or tablet, making it unnecessary to purchase or lease additional hardware. Moreover, regular vehicle data and software updates are automatically downloaded through the Internet. The device also improves the experience of end-users with a first-of-its-kind human machine interface (HMI), enabling technicians to use it without hassle.
Leveraging its decades of experience in supplying diagnostics to OEM’s end-of-line production test systems and diagnostic tools, MAHLE has successfully brought this speed and stability to an industry-leading aftermarket scan for the first time.
According to Andreas Huber, general manager, MAHLE Service Solutions, the TechPRO® diagnostic scan tool is designed to help technicians work smarter, not harder. He also noted that the device is about making technicians more efficient.
