Over 350 auto part manufacturers and distributors drawn from different parts of the world gather in Panama on an annual basis for the Latin Auto Parts Expo, which is one of the most renowned automotive trade shows in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2018, the show is scheduled to be held from July 25 to 27 at the ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama City. Many exhibitors consider the show as a platform to showcase their products to the region.
The aftermarket sector is expected to play a significant role at the show this year. Several leading brands including Berryman Products, S&S Truck Parts, Mighty Auto Parts, Autopart International and EMG International will use the show to showcase a wide range of aftermarket products. Studies conducted by Global Market Insights Inc. have projected that the Latin American automotive aftermarket share will grow at a rate of more than 5 percent every year in the period from 2016 to 2024.
Ronnie Barassi, director of international sales for Mighty Auto Parts, which acts as a provider/distributor of lubricant products to the global aftermarket said that the exhibition has been worthwhile for his company.
“We are exploring our products in the region, and there has been a lot of influence at the show from Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, to Panama,” he said.
