Jaguar Land Rover Classic has unveiled a new infotainment system as part of its expanding range of genuine parts and accessories for classic cars. It has developed infotainment system units with a classic appearance for use in revamped classic vehicles so that their audio and infotainment systems are absolutely top notch. The head unit which has a classic look is compatible with most classic vehicles.
The single DIN-sized Classic Infotainment System unit runs on negative earth electrics, and incorporate customizable satellite navigation in up to 32 languages, smartphone integration, Bluetooth connectivity and dual DAB/DAB+ digital radio, in addition to both FM and AM analog reception.
JLR will offer four distinct branded versions of the Classic Infotainment System which are specifically for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. Customers will have a choice of black or chrome faceplate finishes for Jaguars, and can choose from black or silver brushed aluminum for Land Rovers.
The navigation system is controlled through a 3.5-inch high-resolution touchscreen that is integrated between traditional rotary controls and buttons. Its guidance can be displayed as 2D or 3D maps, or as turn arrow instructions, and includes TMC traffic alerts.
Other main features of the Classic Infotainment System are its telephone functionality, ability to support four devices with each device having 1250 contacts, internal microphone, availability of upto 32 languages for the navigation function and availability of the system in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian.
