HUBB Filters has announced that the company has won the Gold Award at this year’s edition of the renowned International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) Contest. The contest which is conducted by the International Design Society of America (IDSA) recognizes the best products in 20 different categories based on their benefit to the client, benefit to society, benefit to user, their innovation, their design and style. The jury is drawn from design experts based in different parts of the world who choose from thousands of entries received in the different categories every year to select the winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. HUBB received the Gold award for its performance filter as it offered a significant environmental benefit. Conventional disposable automotive filters need to be changed regularly while the filter from HUBB is an all-metal dual-filter washable unit that can be used throughout the lifetime of a vehicle, thus minimizing the number of filters in landfills.
Speaking about the award, Christopher Hubbard, the company’s founder and chief scientist said that winning the Gold IDEA Award will serve as a significant endorsement of the company’s performance filter. Hubbard has spent years researching, developing and testing his filter and Whipsaw, an industrial design and engineering firm based in San Jose, California helped him with the commercialization process.
Hubbard said that in addition to the environmental benefits, his all-metal filter is a breakthrough product that offers motorists unprecedented engine protection and cost savings as it is backed by a 100,000-mile performance guarantee.
The HUBB filter was chosen as the winner of the Gold award in its category from over 1,700 other entries which were received from 30 countries according to HUBB’s CEO, Scott Killips. The filter has also undergone extensive third party testing customers and Automotive Testing and Development Services Inc. (ATDS) which proved Hubb’s claims of the product’s extended oil change intervals, superior filtration, engine health protection, and reduced carbon emissions. HUB has received other awards for its range of filters including the GOOD DESIGN award from the prestigious Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. and a first place in the 2015 Spark Product Design Awards.
