Hyundai Genesis G90, the first vehicle from Hyundai’s new luxury brand, will soon feature advanced connected car and audio solutions from HARMAN, the leading connected technologies company for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets.
The all-new Genesis G90 sets a new benchmark for a more personalized, safer and enjoyable driving experience, and HARMAN’s state-of-the-art products and technologies are crucial to brining this promise to life. Included in HARMAN’s designed and built embedded infotainment system for the luxury sedan are a 200GB hard drive, rich multimedia support, enhanced Bluetooth® hands free connectivity, voice commands, high definition mapping, and 2D and 3D navigation. The company’s attention to design and quality is apparent in the luxurious interface, featuring a 12.3-inch HD screen with touch control in the center console. Supporting split display, the wide screen format displays media, apps, entertainment and phone information along with HVAC, navigation and vehicle system data. Dual 9.2-inch rear seat monitors for backseat connectivity and entertainment are also included in HARMAN’s infotainment system for the Genesis G90. What’s more, high speed embedded connectivity is supported through an integrated 4G/LTE modem.
The Korean edition of the Genesis G90, the EQ900, is also the first mass-produced car with partially autonomous driving. It features a highway driving assist system enabling hands-free driving on highways as well as a lane guidance system and a cutting-edge smart cruise control. These safety features will be supported through the HARMAN infotainment system to help control vehicle speed by identifying speed limits as well as risk areas for speeding.
Leveraging its technical expertise and driven by its firm attention to detail and passionate craftsmanship, HARMAN also engineered and built the premium Lexicon surround sound system that complements the classy cabin interior. The finely-tuned sonic experience for the Genesis G90 comes in two options: a 14-speaker, 600-watt base model or upgraded 17-speaker, 900 watt system. Designed particularly for the vehicle’s distinctive characteristics, Lexicon engineers have spent thousands of hours of thorough “voicing” to deliver an experience in the Genesis G90 that beautifully combines the passion of art with the science of sound. The Lexicon Sound System prides Quantum Logic surround sound, while HARMAN’s patented Clari-Fi software rebuilds details lost in compressed audio files, adjusting the treatment based on the audio signal’s quality to restore a hi-fidelity listening experience.
According to Dinesh Paliwal, HARMAN Chairman, President and CEO, they are proud to support Hyundai’s new flagship luxury offering and complement its thoughtful design with the most advanced connectivity, security and custom experiences possible today. He said that the HARMAN and Hyundai brands continue their longstanding collaboration delivering advanced and seamless features for both drivers and passengers, and the Genesis G90 is not exempted. “As seen with record-breaking pre-orders in Korea, the Genesis G90 strikes the perfect balance for today’s consumers with a refined vehicle exterior design and dynamic interior experience.”
The high-end Genesis G90 replaces the popular Hyundai Equus as the brand’s flagship luxury vehicle. Now offered in Korea as the Genesis EQ900, the Genesis G90 will reportedly arrive in US and European dealerships by mid next year.
