Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has completed its acquisition of one of the market leaders in automated tire inspection technology, Ventech Systems GmbH. The tire manufacturer acquired the company from Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH with the purpose of supporting its fleet services in Europe and other markets across the world.
Ventech Systems is a company that provides a fully automated tire inspection system comprising checks of tire pressure, tread depth and vehicle weight for all kinds of vehicles including buses, trucks and cars.
Ventech Systems is based in Dorsten, Germany and once the acquisition has been completed will become a part of Goodyear Proactive Solutions business across the Europe and MEA markets where Goodyear’s Proactive Solutions program is currently available.
Andre Weisz, managing director, Goodyear Proactive Solutions, will function as the CEO of Ventech Systems. Andreas Pietsch, Ventech Systems chief operating officer, will continue to remain in his role.
Goodyear had launched its Goodyear Proactive Solutions to provide fleet owners with a full suite of services for fleet management that would help fleet operators to improve safety, decrease fuel use, reduce their carbon footprint and support the digital transformation of their fleet.
Goodyear says that the Ventech deal will allow the company to strengthen its “one stop” value proposition when it comes to fleets as it can now offer premium tires, advanced technology and mobile fleet solutions, as well as a complete service package so that fleet owners and operators can reduce their total cost of ownership and increase efficiency.
