GNA Axles, one of the subsidiaries of the GNA Group won the Platinum award in the forging category from Automotive Axles, a joint venture between the Kalyani Group of Inida and Meritor Inc, USA. GNA Axles specializes in the production of axle shafts and won the award for best-in-class delivery performance. The company has a factory in Mehtiana, Punjab that makes 2 million axle shafts on an annual basis and has the capacity to make shafts ranging in weight from 1.5kg to 65kg.
According to GNA Axles, its axle shafts are used for a wide range of vehicles including off-highway vehicles and light and heavy commercial vehicles. It makes rear axle shafts with flanges up to 425mm. The company also makes a large range of splined shafts to cater to customers having a variety of transmission shaft requirements.
GNA Axles says that its hollow spindles are supplied to manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles like Volvo and Renault and specialty vehicle manufacturers in Europe and North America.
Automotive Axles Limited (AAL) is a joint venture company that was formed by the Kalyani Group and Meritor Inc., USA. The company has manufacturing facilities in Mysore (Karnataka) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand). The company makes drive axles, non-drive axles, front steer axles, specialty and defence axles and drum and disc brakes and supplies them to leading domestic and global manufacturers of trucks and buses.
