Forgeline Motorsports is planning to debut its newest one-piece monoblock design wheel, the DR1, at the 2017 edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. The show is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 3 in Las Vegas. The DR1 is a truly directional wheel. This means that the wheel has separate left and right versions so they will have the same appearance when are mounted on each side of the car.
Forgeline’s monoblock wheels are made from a single 6061-T6 aluminum forging. This aerospace-grade forging is a specially milling process that results in the creation of a wheel that is lightweight, but is exceptionally strong and stiff. The directional I-beam spokes extend all the way into the center cap. Hence, the DR1 has the appearance of a centerlock wheel. The wheel is available in 18-, 19-, 20- and 21-inch diameters, in any finish that Forgeline offers. The DR1 wheel is an out-of-the-box design for the company.
Commenting on the new wheel, David Schardt, president, Forgeline Motorsports said that the wheel has a really unique design. By developing the DR1, Forgeline has created a wheel that is both modern and exotic in appearance. He said that the DR1 offers the high-quality and strength that Forgeline’s customers have come to expect along with a really singular design.
The DR1 wheel is designed for use on modern sports cars, coupes and sedans such as McLaren, Mercedes, BMW, Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari, to name a few.
