Fleet Management Systems and Technologies (FMS Tech) specializes in smart software that can monitor in-vehicle activity in order to help enhance road safety in the UAE. After clients have installed the company’s in-vehicle monitoring system (IVMS) devices which are also known as Telematics devices, they have recorded an average of 84 per cent reduction of over speeding violations, 79 per cent reduction in vehicle accidents, 73 per cent improvement in driver morale, 25 per cent better fleet utilization, 24 per cent reduction of maintenance costs, and 18 per cent reduction in fuel consumption.
FMS Tech is the only such company in the Middle East which provides IVMS/Telematics solutions comprising hardware and software design, development, and integration. The IVMS device essentially acts as a recorder that transmits details of operator behavior, vehicle diagnostics, and route optimization on a real time basis using a secure cloud-based system. This information can be stored and accessed through an online portal that can be accessed from anywhere and by any device connected to the Internet.
Users can access the cloud-based system and receive alerts through the FMS Smart Track app on all Apple and Android smart devices. Web browsers can access the information just by logging on to the FMS Office 2000 monitoring software via FMS Tech’s unique URL (uae.fms-tech.com/bbis). Only devices which are registered through an authorization code provided by the company can connect to the secure FMS Tech server, in order to access the real time data and receive notifications.
The kinds of behavior for which the system sends alerts include the driver not wearing a seat belt, speeding, harsh braking and dangerous acceleration. Alerts regarding such behavior are sent not only to the driver but also to every device that the vehicle is registered to. Thus, companies can exercise greater control of their fleets and operators when it comes to protecting their assets. Other sensor alerts include engine status, violation details, location, standing hours and speed limit.
“FMS TECH is approved by ADNOC for Oil and Gas IVMS solutions and by the Abu Dhabi and Dubai police for Non-Oil and Gas IVMS/Telematics solutions,” commented Bassam Alkassar, Founder and CEO, FMS Tech. “We have more than 13,000 vehicles running within the UAE which provide end-user security.”
Etisalat SIM cards with 4G are pre-installed in these devices, which transmit all client data via satellite round the clock to three FMS Tech servers. FMS Tech professionals must install the devices as they are connected to the vehicles’ existing sensors in the dashboard.
Through the use of constantly evolving IVMS technology and superior fleet management solutions, FMS Tech helps users decrease the rate of road accidents by reinforcing mindful driving habits.
