Just recently, Eaton has unveiled its new high pressure 35NG hose and low pressure NG-TW hose designed for compressed natural gas (CNG) applications. Following tests conducted by TÜV Rheinland, the new hoses have been among the first to be given ANSI NGV 4.2 Class A & D and ANSI NGV 3.1 Class B & C certifications.
Mainly used in dispensing and commercial vehicle applications such as delivery vehicles, buses and trucks, the certified hose offerings fully ensure that quality standards and safety requirements are met.
Chris Schwab, global product manager, Eaton, noted that with unstable oil prices and significant natural gas reserves in North America, the market for CNG vehicles has expanded quickly over the past few years, and end users are looking to clean burning CNG to help cut costs and emissions. He added that Eaton is committed to providing reliable CNG products, and stocking TÜV-certified hoses for express delivery.
Boasting of an ultraviolet light (UV) resistant cover, the 35NG hose effectively outlasts competitive alternatives by 5-to-one. The hose assemblies are designed to dispel static electricity for safety. Moreover, Eaton’s 35NG hose has twin-line designs and low volumetric expansion.
The low pressure NG-TW hose is constructed with a Teflon® resin tube, a fire retardant cover and a stainless steel wire braid, enabling it to withstand the high temperatures found under the hood—up to 121°C. Moreover, the NG-TW hose is extremely flexible and boasts a low permeation rate.
