Cubic Telecom, a global connectivity platform provider, and iBasis have recently implemented an LTE Roaming solution utilizing iBasis’ global LTE footprint, hosted Diameter Signaling service and custom development to enable Cubic’s intelligent Multi-IMSI solution for connected cars and other upcoming IoT/M2M applications.
Cubic found a partner with global LTE roaming coverage that could offer a solution supporting their embedded connectivity platform in just a very short time. iBasis took on the challenge with an operationally efficient and cost-effective solution that employs hosted Diameter Routing Agents (DRA) to enable Cubic Telecom to provide smooth 4G/LTE connectivity throughout Europe.
Cubic Telecom, which recently collaborated with Audi to provide high-speed connectivity for Audi connect infotainment services to motorists across Europe, is at the core of a new digital solutions ecosystem. Machina Research reveals that the total number of M2M connections will rise from 5 billion in 2014 to 27 billion in 2024. Cellular connections, on the other hand, is expected to climb from 256 million at the end of 2014 to 2.2 billion by 2024, the majority of which will be LTE, and more than 50 percent will be in the ‘Connected Car’ sector.
