Autoliv has recently been invited by Cadillac to exhibit its Night Vision technology as part of Cadillac’s Truth + Dare driving experience. The event will showcase the sophisticated technology, agile drive dynamics, and features of the automaker’s vehicles. Participants will also have a chance to explore the amazing benefits of Night Vision and its ability to warn drivers of pedestrians and animals in the path of the car.
The first Cadillac CT6 boasts the industry’s most advanced Night Vision safety technology that was developed exclusively by Autoliv. The system employs an infrared camera mounted in the front grille of the car that senses temperature differences, making objects on the road visible to the driver even through smoke, fog, and darkness. Apart from spotting animals and pedestrians in the vehicle’s path, Autoliv’s custom algorithm also enables alerts to the driver through icons in the head-up display and instrument cluster. If the vehicle is in danger of a crash with an animal or pedestrian, a quick beeping tone or pulsing of the safety alert is activated.
Stuart Klapper, Autoliv Night Vision Managing Director, said in a statement that they are pleased to be part of the Cadillac’s Truth + Dare event. He noted that it is a great opportunity for Autoliv to showcase their Night Vision Active Safety technology to Cadillac’s guests, and are honored that Cadillac has chosen Night Vision to be presented among other sophisticated technologies at the event.
The Truth + Dare driving experience kicked off in New York on July 14, and will continue on to Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami, respectively.
